Metta - 1915 Unisex Duster Jacket - Pin Stripe
Originally designed for horsemen to protect their clothing from trail dust in the late 1800s, the traditional duster was later adapted for use in automobile attire. Stumbling across one of these old trench-coat-style jackets at a Parisian flea market, we fell in love with its detailing and silhouette, dating it to around 1900-1915, and were inspired to create our own Metta rendition with a modern-day fit.Ā
Featuring a full button front, generous side pockets, and raglan sleeves that are great for allowing cosy layering in the cooler months. 1915 Duster Jacketās sleeves are finished beautifully with the same Japanese-made buttons (used throughout), and the mid-weight linen makes the 1915 Duster a transitional staple.Ā
Your 1915 Duster Jacket will arrive pre-washed; the linen will be soft and more crumpled, as we do not iron after washing. With every wear, your 1915 Duster Jacket will soften, showcasing the gorgeous European Linen. Ā

We recommend looking at the garmentās measurements in relation to your body, and also in comparison to a similar style of clothing you own. This is a great way to understand the shape and size of a style.
Metta's linen styles are made from premium European linen (grown in France, Belgium & the Netherlands), pre-washed, and ready to wear on arrival. Some are lightly pressed - within no time the fabric will soften with wear, crinkles and wrinkles will come naturally, giving it that stunning unironed look that we have all come to love. If you would like to speed up this process, we recommend popping it in the washing machine, following the washing instructions found on your garments care label, and skipping any ironing.Ā
